Community and Government Relations

Chris Rodgers
Director, Community and Government Relations

Our partnerships with community organizations, corporate partners, government agencies and individuals support our students, faculty, staff and alumni in creating a more just world through a life of service.

We seek partnerships that:

  • Encompass all levels of education
  • Touch the Catholic community
  • Enhance our healthcare initiatives and relationships
  • Reach underserved and diverse communities
  • Collaborate with government and civic agencies

We develop community programs that foster:

  • Interprofessional Education: more commonly called “field education” or “clinicals,” this skill-based community programming emphasizes the students’ professional development
  • Service-Learning: helps to form students into “men and women for and with others” through experiential learning and reflection
  • Community Service: enables faculty, staff and students of Creighton University to carry out the Jesuit mission of service and empower them to examine, engage and change the world
  • Faculty/Staff Community Participation: time devoted to service on boards, commissions and committees—locally, regionally, nationally and internationally
  • Community Resource: the University provides venues for community events, including educational and athletic events
  • Government Relations: promote the University as a resource to public officials and collaborator with which to address community needs
