UP: Though it is hard to make out on such small objects, the UP seals in bronze and silver have the legend across the top “Fin contre Fin,” cunning versus cunning.
LM: The seal represents well the size difference between these two animals. Its legend is somewhat surprising: “Patience.”
WL: The legend here comes straight from La Fontaine: “La raison du plus fort.” One might translate as “the logic of the stronger.” The seal suggests the aggressiveness of the wolf on the right versus the head-down victimhood of the lamb on the left. Well done!
