Porcelain Thimbles

2000?  Thimble presenting CJ.  “Le Coq et la Perle.”  Porcelain.  Source unknown.

This thimble has presented a surprise.  A routine check on the web, after many references to porcelain thimbles with animals but nothing concerning fables, revealed that this thimble belongs to a set of seven available now in France.  Now the collector in me faces a challenge, especially since the email I just sent to  the address given by the business failed!  The hunt goes on!

2000?  Thimble presenting “A wolf in sheeps clothing.”  Colored porcelain.  Source unknown.

This thimble presents a lively colored picture with a legend on the reverse side.  The collector in me suspects that it belongs to a broader set – perhaps a set of fable thimbles?  A quick browse on the web produced many porcelain thimbles picturing animals, but no others picturing fables.
