Assistant Professor of Computer Science, Clare Boothe Luce Faculty Chair

The Department of Computer Science, Design & Journalism invites applications for a Clare Boothe Luce Faculty Chair in Computer Science. The appointment begins in August 2023 and is tenure-track at the Assistant Professor level. The position is a rotating chair, established under the terms of the Luce Foundation to increase the representation of women in STEM careers. The chair oversees the Clare Boothe Luce Undergraduate Scholarship program and receives salary and research support, a reduced teaching load, and a substantial budget for student mentoring and outreach activities. After an appointment of up to five (5) years, the recipient is eligible for tenure and advancement as a regular member of the Department of Computer Science, Design & Journalism.

Assistant Professor of Journalism

The Department of Computer Science, Design & Journalism invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Journalism. This tenure-track appointment begins in August 2023. The candidate must have a terminal degree (doctorate) or be close to finishing their doctoral degree by July 2023. We seek an individual with the potential to be an excellent teacher-scholar. This faculty member would focus primarily on the news track and would be expected to serve as the faculty advisor for the Creightonian student media, which provides a one-course reduction per year in teaching load (the normal teaching load is three courses per semester).

The College of Arts and Sciences has initiated a cross-disciplinary faculty hiring initiative, seeking candidates whose line of inquiry in teaching and/or research connects to the theme of “Race and Social Justice.” Candidates are invited to indicate if they wish to be considered for this additional opportunity.
