Global Women's Health Fellowship

Creighton University School of Medicine – Phoenix’s fellowship program in Women's Global Health is ready to welcome you to the desert southwest.

This one-year fellowship program is considered non-Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (non-ACGME). Currently, our program recruits for 1 position each year.

In 2018, Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC), Creighton University (CUSOM), Valleywise Health, and District Medical Group (DMG) joined forces to form the Creighton University Arizona Health Education Alliance. This partnership brings together a university recognized for providing outstanding training for students and residents in the health sciences and two healthcare systems known for their impressive history of caring for members of the greater Phoenix community.

About the Program

The Creighton University School of Medicine-Phoenix Global Women's Health Fellowship is a two-year, non-ACGME approved fellowship program for Ob/Gyn physicians who desire advanced training in the delivery of women's healthcare around the world through a combination of clinical experience, education and mentorship. Because there is no one clear path as a global women's healthcare leader, our program utilizes multiple global and local partners to customize the experience of our fellows depending on their individual goals. While we anticipate fellows spending approximately half of their fellowship working abroad clinically with partners in Tanzania, China or Botswana, we have also developed a strong relationship with the Valleywise Health Women's Refugee Program and Maricopa County Department of Public Health for advanced training and experience in healthcare delivery to traditionally underserved populations in the greater Phoenix area.
