A Year-by-Year Look at Our Program

A significant didactic curriculum is planned, as well as self-learning goals under the guidance of a board-certified surgical critical care faculty and our burn-certified faculty. Frequent formal evaluations and outcome measurements of resident performance will ensure the six core competencies outlined by the ACGME are being met. Furthermore, many facets of trauma and emergency general surgery will be incorporated into the residency to give each critical care resident the opportunity to not only maintain their general surgical skills, but also allow long-term flexibility with job opportunities as a surgical intensivist and trauma/emergency general surgeon.
