PA Program Faculty – Academic Director

Creighton University School of Medicine: Physician Assistant Program

Location - Omaha, NE

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the Director of Curriculum & Assessment and Director of Didactic Education, participates in the implementation and delivery of curriculum and student assessment in the didactic and clinical phases of the program
  • Course direction or co-direction, including the design, development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of individual courses and the program curriculum.
  • Participates in the development, review, and revision of the program’s mission statement, goals, outcomes, and competencies
  • Classroom and small group instruction in the PA program in areas of expertise
  • Develops and participates in student assessment, evaluation and remediation
  • Participates in clinical skills and simulation activities, lab activities and assessments
  • Evaluates and facilitates Problem Based Assessments
  • Provides advising and academic counseling to students
  • Co-faculty sponsor of the Creighton University PA Student Society
  • Contributes to admissions application evaluation, interviews and selection of applicants.
  • Participates in site visits to clinical preceptors, and other activities in the clinical phase of the program, as needed.
  • Participates in ongoing program evaluation and accreditation processes.
  • Scholarly activity in areas of research interest.
  • Serves on Creighton University and School of Medicine committees and activities as requested.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Current NCCPA Certification/PA-C
  • Nebraska State PA License (or license-eligible)

Preferred:

  • PA education experience 
  • Doctoral Degree
  • Program Contributor (Lecturer, Preceptor, Admissions or Skills Instructor)
