Assistant Professor

Lisa Benson-DeVries is an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at Creighton University. Her research interests focus on perioperative nursing care and patient safety, with an emphasis on improving post-anesthesia care outcomes. She holds a Doctorate in Education from Nebraska Methodist College and an MSN and MBA from Nebraska Wesleyan University. As a certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN), Lisa maintains an active clinical practice, bridging academic theory with hands-on patient care. Her recent scholarly work includes leading a quality improvement project on reducing post-operative complications through enhanced recovery protocols. Lisa's research has been presented at national nursing conferences, contributing to evidence-based practice in perioperative care. She is committed to advancing nursing education and patient-centered care strategies, aiming to enhance surgical outcomes and promote excellence in perioperative nursing practice, thus benefiting both the academic community and healthcare delivery systems.
