Dr. Janousek’s research focuses on state and local government policy and management. He has examined various policy tools for interlocal and interorganizational collaboration. He has also investigated the differences and disparities in healthcare policy implementation and governance among the U.S. states. His comparative research explores influences on city administration, including international settings, public institutions, and political culture. He has presented research at national and international conferences and has published articles in American Review of Public Administration, State and Local Government Review, International Journal of Public Administration, Community Development, and Health Economics, Policy and Law.
Dr. Janousek provides professional development and management training for government, public, and nonprofit managers, including topics in public policy, public service ethics, community leadership, and strategic planning. He has conducted research and educational seminars for various public and professional organizations, such as the United Nations, the International and Nebraska City/County Management Associations, the Nebraska State Legislature, Omaha Public Power District, One Omaha, the Nebraska Municipal Clerks Association, the Nebraska Association of County Officials, and the Nebraska Certified Public Manager program.
