Assistant Library Professor

Karina Kletscher earned her Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2020. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Narrative Studies with a minor in American Popular Culture from the University of Southern California in 2014. Kletscher is a member of the Medical Library Association, the Academy of Health Information Professionals, and the Association of College and Research Libraries. 

Her research interests include critical pedagogies, the medical humanities, and the intersection of information literacy and cultural programming and its impact on belonging in the academic library. Kletscher has previously written and presented on gamified library instruction, spaces in the academic library, and librarians’ roles in adolescent sexual health literacy. When outside of the library, you can find her digging around a vintage market or trying a new DIY project.
