Lauren Loyd, MSN, RN, NPD-BC, CNE

Instructor

Lauren Loyd is a registered nurse and instructor in the Creighton University College of Nursing. Her research interests include nursing education and ethics emphasizing new graduate nurses and transition to nursing practice. She holds a BSN from Carlow College in Pittsburgh, PA; MSN in Nursing Education and Teaching Online Certificate from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS; and will graduate from the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a PhD in Nursing in 2026. Her master’s thesis focused on spirituality in nursing and meeting patient needs through nursing awareness. She is studying moral distress in new graduate nurses and its relationship to job and workforce attrition. Lauren is passionate about caring for students and patients and engaging with innovative educational strategies to promote professional nursing practice and lifelong learning. Researching educational interventions aimed at preparing nurses for ethical practice challenges can promote interprofessional collaboration, positive patient outcomes, and workforce sustainability.
