Faculty Neonatologist – Creighton University School of Medicine

Creighton School of Medicine in Omaha, NE invites applications for a Board Eligible or Board Certified, fellowship-trained Neonatologist to join our highly skilled and collaborative NICU team. The successful candidate will receive a faculty appointment at Creighton University School of Medicine, with rank commensurate with experience and credentials.

 

Position Highlights

  • Join a cohesive group of 3 Creighton neonatologists and an experienced in-house team of neonatal nurse practitioners
  • Shared practice model with 13 neonatologists at Children’s Nebraska
  • Call approximately 1 in 6 nights

 

Two Level III NICUs:

  • 34-bed private-room Level III NICU at CHI Health Bergan Mercy
  • 8-bed private-room Level III NICU at CHI Health Lakeside

 

Clinical & Academic Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional clinical care in a busy, high-acuity Level III NICU environment
  • Supervise and teach Creighton medical students during the pediatric clerkship
  • Contribute to curriculum development, committee service, and academic administration
  • Collaborate with faculty colleagues to maintain excellence in pediatric education
  • Participate in a robust teaching environment including medical students, NNP students, and other learners
  • Opportunities to engage in clinical research and scholarly activity

 

About Our NICU & Perinatal Program

Bergan Mercy is a regional high-risk perinatal center and teaching hospital, admitting approximately 550 infants annually, with an average daily census of 30 patients. With 3,500 deliveries per year, Neonatology and Perinatology work closely together to provide coordinated, high-quality care to mothers and infants.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO or equivalent degree
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
  • Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching and interest in clinical research
  • Passion for working in an inclusive, mission-driven academic environment
