Instructor/Simulation Lab Coordinator

Description

Creighton University College of Nursing seeks qualified candidates for a 12-month, full-time, non- tenure track faculty appointment to teach in the nursing program and serve as Simulation Lab Coordinator in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Simulation Lab Coordinator role supports to the CON as a liaison between the Simulation Operations Team and the College of Nursing faculty. This individual partners with College of Nursing administrators, University simulation operations team, faculty, and staff to develop and implement evidence-based innovative simulation programs that facilitate clinical decision-making, best practice and skill acquisition in both the undergraduate and graduate curricula. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct classroom instruction as well as supervise students in clinical and simulation/lab experiences in the faculty’s area of clinical expertise with flexibility to supervise students in community-based settings.

 

Faculty will also be expected to participate in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation. Additionally, the faculty member will be expected to contribute to the College of Nursing’s expanding research portfolio, and fulfill the responsibilities associated with teaching, service, and scholarship commensurate with the College’s Standards of Performance for Rank and Tenure, as well as the University guidelines for advancement in rank and tenure. Appointment will be at the rank commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

·       Master’s Degree in Nursing (Doctoral degree preferred)

·       A minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing and simulation healthcare experience

·       Evidence of teaching experience in didactic, simulation and clinical settings.

·       Evidence of mentoring experience with students and peers.

·       Certification in Healthcare Simulation (CHSE; CHSE-A; CHSOS), or progress toward certification.

·       Demonstrated competency in fundamental and advanced nursing psychomotor, health assessment, and technological skills.

·       Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills

·       For early career faculty – Evidence of scholarly productivity and an emerging program of research is expected.

·       Candidates must have a current unencumbered license to practice as an RN in the state of Arizona, or eligibility for licensure.
