2025 MLK Week Events at Creighton

Creighton University will celebrate and discuss the life and legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. during its annual MLK Week, with a series of events Jan. 15-17 in advance of the national Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday on Monday, Jan. 20.

This year's theme is inspired by King's 1967 and final book, Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community?

Wednesday, Jan. 15
MLK Unity Prayer Breakfast
This breakfast provides an opportunity to unite the community in the spirit of inclusion and fellowship in honor of the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. The Drum Major Award, given to an individual who serves as an advocate of social justice, is awarded during this event. Special guest speaker TBD.

Thursday, Jan. 16
MLK Panel  
This event will feature historians and civil rights experts. More information to come.

Friday Jan. 17
The Black Law Student Association Guest Lecture Forum  
Angela Onwuachi-Willig, JD, PhD, dean of Boston University School of Law, will present a lecture, “Reclaiming the Dream,” and discuss how community, students and educators alike can use Dr. Martin Luther King’s vision in 2025 America, over 60 years later.

 

Creighton will be closed on Jan. 20 in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
