Special Faculty for Pre-Dental and Pre-Medical Specialties

Creighton University's College of Professional and Continuing Education is hiring Special Faculty for the Spring, Summer, and Fall sessions at the Omaha campus. 

Well-qualified candidates will demonstrate a commitment to teaching and practice, and be responsible to design, teach, and assess student learning for post-baccalaureate pre-dental and pre-medical students. Special faculty are responsible for teaching coursework within the Post-Baccalaureate program. Teach on a course-by-course basis at the Omaha campus.

  • Anatomy 
  • Biology
  • Physics
  • Perceptual Abilities (PAT), including angle ranking, cube counting, hole punching, pattern folding and keyhole/Top-Front-End views (possible remote teaching opportunity)
  • Professional writing for pre-medical and pre-dental students 
  • Sociology 
  • Pre-Medical Mathematics
  • Integrated Cultural Awareness
  • Analytical reading for pre-medical and pre-dental students

 

 

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Candidates must possess a Master's degree or above in the field of expertise.
  • Two (2) years teaching in the area of expertise.
  • Experience in classroom or clinical, and/or in person and on-line instruction preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Excellent written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
  • Strong collaborative/teamwork ability to motivate, and inspire individuals at all levels of the organization;
  • Ability to foster student  learning, development, and decision making in support of goals, success, wellness, and needs;
  • Commitment to provide personalized feedback; estimated time commitment per week 10-15 hours.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with diverse populations;
  • Mission/Service and Results oriented with empathy and compassion for the experiences of others;
  • Ability to teach and work at times non-traditional business hours when needed (i.e. weekends, evening, and/or holiday)
