Student Life Programs

Something for everyone.

The strength of the Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) community at Creighton and its commitment to each of its six key values are evident in the signature programs held throughout the year.

Dance Marathon

  • Dance Marathon is a 12-hour celebration of a yearlong fundraising effort benefitting Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha. The student-run program is committed to giving 100 percent of the funds raised each year to support local kids. Dancing, games, food, and stories from impacted families make the time fly by. Since its inception at Creighton in 2015, Dance Marathon has raised over $300,000.

Emerging Fraternity & Sorority Leaders Program

  • Based on Chris Lowney’s Heroic Leadership, (ELP) seeks to provide up-and-coming leaders in the Greek community with opportunities to discover their own strengths and leadership style. By addressing the values, major issues, and challenges of fraternity and sorority life, ELP helps frame the leadership experience for students and set them up for success in their roles within Creighton’s chapters.

Fraternity and Sorority Life Week

  • Fraternity and Sorority Life Week is designed to be a week of programming for our FSL community to promote unity, awareness about the community, education, and fellowship.

Lip Sync

  • The fraternity and sorority community partners with the New Student Orientation team to host the annual Lip Sync competition. This fan-favorite event is an opportunity for the fraternity and sorority community to introduce itself to the newest members of the Creighton community while providing an energetic close to Welcome Week!

The FSL Measure

  • The FSL Measure is a program that provides chapters with a framework for success. The program sets minimum standards of attainment for each chapter in seven distinct areas of Fraternity and Sorority Life: chapter leadership and governance, scholarship and academics, membership development, new member recruitment and education, service and philanthropy, chapter advisor and alumni relations, and social responsibility/risk management. By meeting and exceeding expectations in these areas per the FSL Measure, chapters will have both opportunities to assess needs and areas for growth, as well as gain significant recognition for their successes.

Hazing Prevention Week

  • Hazing Prevention Week is a week sponsored by the FSL Standards Board and is designed to provide education and resources to students about hazing and ways to live a safe and healthy life.

Unity Week

  • Unity Week is a week of programming at the start of the spring semester to build unity within the community, introduce new members to who the FSL community is, and be an outlet for wellness programming.
