Krystal Boose serves as the Director for TRiO's Student Support Services department. Krystal received her Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations from Creighton University and her Master's Degree in Public Administration from UNO. Krystal has an incredible passion for TRiO, tremendous ties to the Omaha non-profit community, a fantastic operations and programming back- ground, and a significant track record of community involvement around diversity, inclusion, and social justice issues. Krystal is an alumna of CU’s Student Support Services. In her free time, Krystal likes to read, run, paint, mentor through Girls Inc., and serves on three boards in the community. Krystal loves “firing” up her crockpot and having hearty meals available in the office for the price of a conversation.

Karen Thurber serves as the Assistant Director for Student Support Services. She has worked at Creighton University for 27 years, 11 years in SSS and 16 years in Career Services. Karen has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Nebraska Wesleyan University and a Master's in Education, emphasis in Student Personnel from the UNO. Karen enjoys assisting students with questions regarding course selection, 4-year plans, financial aid, loans, FAFSA, careers, re- sumes, mock interviews, graduate school and anything else that might be an unexplored territory for students. Karen has two sons, Michael and Nick, and they attended UNL and KU. She loves to garden, belongs to a few clubs, and works in the nursey at church.

Kelley Sanders serves as the Administrative Assistant for Student Support Services. Kelley set aside her education goals to raise her 5 children but is now finishing her bachelor's degree here at Creighton. Her son Aron, a first-generation student himself, just graduated with his bachelor's in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He was a member of Student Support Services at UNL, and this helped him reach his graduation goals. Prior to coming to Creighton, Kelley managed projects for the EPA, cleaning up lead-contaminated paint and soil in the Omaha area. She also served as a mentor for teenagers who were involved in the juvenile court system. She recently witnessed one of her mentees graduate from college. Kelley hopes all students and young people will succeed; she says, “I want all young adults to achieve their goals, even while dealing with obstacles.” Outside of Creighton, Kelley enjoys spending time with her family. They enjoy Creighton Basketball games, farmers markets, bowling and other community activities.

Fallon serves as the Coordinator for Recruitment, Retention, and Assessment. She brings more than ten years of experience working in higher education in different student-centered roles and program support roles. She has a desire to serve and make a meaningful impact in the lives of students, and genuinely wants to see students WIN and accomplish their goals. It is her goal to help students in the program navigate through the complexities of the college environment. Fallon earned her Bachelor's degree from Bellevue University in Human and Social Service Administration and earned her Master's degree from Creighton University in Leadership. Fallon is an alumna of Student Support Services. She enjoys cooking and spending time with her family. In her spare time, you will most likely catch her in a basketball gym or on the football field, as she cheers on her son and his teammates of the Burke High Bulldogs!

Ryan works as the Coordinator for Student Access in SSS and in Creighton’s EDGE. He received his bachelor's degree from UNO in education and a master's degree in Higher Education/Management. Prior to coming to Creighton, Ryan worked at Kaplan University as an academic advisor and before that, as a director for a non-profit in Omaha. Ryan is an Omaha native and enjoys the art and music scene around the Omaha metropolitan area. Many of his friends were made through these scenes as he has been a musician in Omaha for over 20 years. Ryan's free time is spent wrangling his 2 children, being wrangled by his wife, playing his guitars, or reading a good book.

Abbey is the Academic Coordinator and Science, Technology, and Math (STM) Specialist for Student Support Services. A native Nebraska, Abbey grew up in Lincoln, NE, earning bachelor’s degrees in Biochemistry and Spanish from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. While attending graduate school at the University of Iowa, she quickly discovered that while she still loved the sciences, her passion for working with college students was leading her to a career outside the lab. She now holds master’s degrees in Microbiology and Higher Education and Student Affairs. Ab- bey brings together her passions for science and working with college students to her SSS role. In her free time, she enjoys swing dancing, reading a good book, and traveling.

As a member of Creighton's English Department for over 12 years, Mary Longo has taught composition and world literature as well as online classes for adult students. She became the writing specialist for Student Support Services in September of 2013. She has served as an RSP advisor SSS and first-generation college students. She has taught at the University of Nebraska at Omaha's Writer's Workshop, and, before coming to Creighton, she taught writing and literature at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for 7 years. Her passion for the written word, which began with Golden Books and continued through Nancy Drew mysteries and 19th-century British novels, led her to obtain a B.A. in English at the University of Notre Dame. Her undergraduate years also awakened her love for the academic life, especially teaching, so she went on to get an M.A. in English from Creighton and a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. This Jersey girl considers herself fortunate to be living in Nebraska and working at Creighton, especially in SSS!
