Occupational Therapy (OT)

The Occupational Therapy (OTD) program offers an immersive 41.5 weeks of experiential education, which includes clinical experiences. Creighton’s OT faculty guide students to tailor their clinical education to meet their needs and aspirations.

With a network of more than 850 clinical sites across the United States and internationally, each placement offers a distinctive focus that enhances a student’s development as a patient-centered practitioner.

Pharmacy

The Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program’s clinical component includes introductory pharmacy practice experiences during the first three years and advanced experiences in the last year. Eight five-week full time clinical rotations are included in the final year; five are in required practice roles and settings, and three are electives a student selects based on their interests.

These clinical rotations, which are available at locations across the country, provide experience in actual pharmacy practice.

Physical Therapy (PT)

Clinical experiences are integral to Creighton’s Doctor of Physical Therapy programs. This includes 44 weeks of full-time clinical education—nine weeks more than the national average—beginning at the end of the third semester. Under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, students evaluate and treat patients, engage in interprofessional education, and explore specialization.

Students can complete their clinical education at nearly 1,000 clinical sites in 45 states and the Dominican Republic.

College of Nursing Clinical Opportunities

In addition to completing training within advanced simulation labs, Creighton nursing and paramedicine students gain hands-on clinical experience. Nursing clinicals allow students to build workforce-ready experience across six specialties; this includes more than 1,000 clinical hours for traditional nursing students and more than 900 clinical hours for accelerated nursing students.

Paramedicine clinicals include field experiences within local fire departments, ambulance services and hospital clinical units. During these experiences, paramedicine students provide direct patient care under the guidance of trained paramedic preceptors.
