Exceptional Education Leads to Exceptional Care

For more than a century, Creighton University has been a leader in health sciences education, building on a foundation that began with early programs in pharmacy (1905) and nursing (1928) and has grown into one of the nation’s most respected academic health sciences communities. Today, that legacy extends across two campuses, our historic home in Omaha and our state-of-the-art Health Sciences Campus in Phoenix.

Together, these campuses bring four top-ranked schools and more than 40 degree and certificate programs into one remarkable Jesuit, Catholic university. Whether you’re interested in an advanced degree or are just starting to explore the possibilities of health sciences, you’ll find pathways to match your goals.

Experiential Learning

Students in Creighton’s health sciences programs gain extensive hands-on experience that prepares them to deliver compassionate care from day one. This includes advanced simulation experiences, which allow students to refine clinical skills in realistic, low-risk environments, and interprofessional education (IPE) that prepares them to work effectively across diverse healthcare teams. Both simulation and IPE build skills needed for hands-on clinical education opportunities, where students put their knowledge into practice.

Pre-Professional Advising

More than half of our undergraduate students come to Creighton with the goal of pursuing a professional degree, so we’ve created the country’s most comprehensive, intentional pre-professional advising and guarantee program. The Center for Advising Resources and Support engages with students in both individual and group settings to guide them toward their professional lives. This includes holding practice interviews for professional school, offering guidance on experiential learning opportunities, facilitating mentoring from current professional school students and more.

Health Sciences Research

College of Nursing

Research in both nursing and paramedicine is essential to providing magis or “more” in healthcare. College of Nursing students have opportunities to conduct research and assist faculty as they find better treatment options, discover new approaches to care and champion safety.

School of Dentistry

We design all our research initiatives to enhance teaching and improve society through better patient care. In fact, the School of Dentistry has built a national and international reputation for science that serves. Our extramural research funding totals nearly $1.5 million from federal agencies, foundations, corporations and other donors.

School of Medicine

At Creighton, our medical students and faculty conduct research that saves lives, contributes to the betterment of society and brings new discoveries to the world. We endeavor to create a culture of inquiry, to improve health by asking relevant research questions and pursuing those answers—whether they’re related to basic science or clinical research.

School of Pharmacy and Health Professions

We prioritize research across all our occupational therapy, pharmacy and physical therapy programs. Our faculty members are committed to expanding scientific knowledge, and we offer students hands-on opportunities to grow through diverse projects. Additionally, our mission is to grow research programs, fostering collaborations within Creighton and beyond.
