We also strive to provide an excellent training environment for students, post-graduate residents and fellows, so they can meet the challenges of their future careers.

PharMerica Consultations

The Center for Drug Information & Evidence-Based Practice offers drug information services to all healthcare professionals affiliated with PharMerica, the long-term and geriatric-focused pharmacy. In addition to providing reviews and recommendations on therapeutics, we can answer questions and offer information about the following: 

  • Dosing
  • Drug interactions
  • Adverse drug reactions
  • Compatibility and stability
  • Dietary supplements and natural medicines
  • Vaccinations
  • Tablet identification

Long-Term Care Updates

Courses

The Center for Drug Information and Evidence-Based Practice offers two courses for Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) students:

  • PHA 458: Literature Evaluation and Evidence-Based Practice is a required course in the third year of the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum.
  • PHA 515: Drug Information Rotation is an advanced pharmacy practice experience (APPE) in drug information and evidence-based practice for fourth-year PharmD students.
