Creative Writing (Certificate)
Want to explore imaginative writing and learn how literature and the creative process work? Creighton’s creative writing certificate can help you add writing fundamentals to expand your creativity or enhance your career.
You can take courses during the day, in the evening—or both—to fit your busy life. You’ll study with accomplished writers, caring mentors and graduates of the famed Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Join the program to earn your certificate and expand your creativity.
In the creative writing certificate program, you will:
- Learn creative writing basics and explore narrative forms and poetry
- Gain an appreciation for literature
- Write under the guidance of experienced professional writers
If you have not yet begun a college degree, this certificate could be your first step, with credits usually meeting some of the major requirements for a degree. Adult learners can earn an undergraduate certificate in creative writing by successfully completing a total of 21 credits. See the complete curriculum for the undergraduate certificate.
Already completed a bachelor’s degree? This program could bring you personal enrichment or strengthen your career options by improving your writing skills and creativity. Prospective students who have already completed an undergraduate degree can pursue a graduate certificate in creative writing by completing 24 credits.
