Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure track)

Description

Creighton University in Omaha, NE is  recruiting exceptional candidates for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position for Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology (MMI) in the areas of bacterial pathogenesis and antimicrobial resistance.

The department is involved in research and teaching that broadly relates to the dynamic interaction between microbial pathogenesis and host defense (https://www.creighton.edu/medicine/departments/medical-microbiology-immunology).

The Center for Antimicrobial Resistance and Epidemiology, the Lynch Comprehensive Cancer Research Center, and the Translational Hearing Center, along with clinical colleagues in infectious diseases afford ample opportunities to establish collaborations.  Candidates will be provided with competitive startup funds, laboratory space, and access to state-of-the-art core facilities (https://www.creighton.edu/medicine/departments/biomedical-sciences/core-facilities).

Qualifications

 

The ideal candidates are expected to participate in graduate and professional student teaching and establish a vigorous independent research program that would ideally integrate into the collegial environment within the School of Medicine.

  • A Ph.D. in related field is required
  • Additional postdoctoral training or experience in field
  •  Ability to foster student learning, development, and decision making in support of their goals, success, wellness, and needs
  •  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations
