At Creighton, pre-law advising helps you explore how your interests, values and strengths can shape a meaningful career in the legal profession. You’ll gain a clear understanding of legal pathways while building the skills and experiences that prepare you for law school.
Through mentoring, skill-building opportunities and connections with legal professionals, you’ll gain insight into the field while developing the critical thinking, communication and ethical foundation needed to pursue law. You'll also gain the confidence to navigate the law school application process.
Every Creighton student who is interested in pre-law can take advantage of benefits like:
Students can also benefit from the communities described below.

At Creighton, you can choose the path to law school that fits your goals. Most students follow a traditional four-year undergraduate route, while others pursue an accelerated 3-3 program through the Heider College of Business or the College of Arts and Sciences—earning both a bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctor in six years.
While many students search for “pre-law degrees,” Creighton doesn’t offer a pre-law major. Instead, you’ll choose a major that aligns with your interests while completing the coursework that prepares you for law school. This approach gives you flexibility and a strong academic foundation, no matter where your path leads.
In the 3-3 program, you’ll complete three years of undergraduate study while following a structured curriculum for your major. You’ll apply to Creighton’s law school during your junior year. After successfully completing the first year of law school with a “C” average or better, you'll be awarded your bachelor’s degree. Two years later, you will earn your Juris Doctor degree.
For students looking for an added level of structure and support, the Creighton Pre-Professional Scholars Program (CPPSP) offers enhanced advising, defined benchmarks and, in select pathways, guarantees for Creighton’s professional programs. Admission is selective and based on academic readiness and commitment to a professional path. Each CPPSP track includes defined criteria for participation.
