Academic Support

Your success is our mission.

Creighton offers a variety of academic support services in a friendly, accessible setting. From your first semester through graduation, advisors, faculty and staff work together to help you plan your path, explore your goals and stay on track.

Through a proactive, holistic approach led by the Office of Academic Success, we create opportunities for students to thrive academically, maximize learning and strengthen overall success. Below, you’ll find an overview of our services, along with links to schedule appointments or learn more about specific types of support (some links require students to log in with their NetID). If you have questions, please email the Office of Academic Success.

BlueSuccess: Our Starting Point for Academic Resources

The Office of Academic Success collaborates with campus partners to provide students with comprehensive support. Through BlueSuccess, our shared appointment and tutoring platform, students can schedule tutoring appointments and access a variety of peer-support services across campus, including appointments for our Success Hubs.

The Office of Academic Success offers free peer tutoring in a wide range of courses and formats to help you thrive in your learning. Our tutors—recommended by instructors for their strong academic performance—adapt their approach to fit your learning style, clarify challenging concepts and help build confidence and independent learning skills.

Tutoring isn’t just for students who are struggling; it’s an opportunity to deepen your understanding of course material, ask questions in a low‑pressure environment and learn from peers who have successfully taken the same classes. Whether you’re aiming to reinforce what you know, prepare for upcoming exams or just refine your study strategies, tutoring provides a supportive, judgment‑free space to grow as a learner.

BlueSuccess Resources

1:1 Tutoring

Students can meet with a tutor in person or online up to five times a week to discuss study strategies, review course content and prepare for exams.

Communication Center Tutoring

These in-person sessions focus on organizing, developing and delivering public presentations. The Communication Center is run by the Department of Communication Studies and available to all students.

Drop-in Tutoring

During these in-person sessions, tutors assist with select biology, chemistry, math and physics courses. Support includes collaborative study sessions with other students enrolled in similar courses.

Attached Tutoring

Tutors providing this in-person service are assigned to select biology, chemistry, exercise science, math and physics courses. They attend class, take notes and hold two study sessions per week throughout the semester.

Supplemental Instruction (SI)

This type of support is available in person and online for select College of Nursing courses. SI Leaders work closely with faculty members, attend class, take notes and deliver weekly supplemental lessons that reinforce key concepts.

Writing Support

Creighton's Writing Center is a resource that helps students become more confident, effective writers at any stage of the writing process, from developing an idea to revising a draft. The Center is run by the English department and available to all students.

Success Hubs

Academic Support, Right Where Students Live

Whether students are looking for one-on-one academic support, a quick pep talk or just a quiet space to study, Creighton’s Success Hubs are a great place to start. During the day, professional staff provide individualized academic support in each Success Hub. In the evenings, graduate students take the lead, offering guidance, encouragement and support. The Omaha campus includes a Success Hub in each of the first-year residence halls. They’re open to all Creighton students—including graduate, professional and commuter students.
