Amy Badura Brack, PhD

Professor

Dr. Badura Brack is developing and testing a version of Attention Training Treatment that appears efficacious in treating combat-related Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), as well as using fMRI and magnetoencephalography (MEG) to identify regions where the brain functions abnormally in PTSD. She is currently working to make this attention training treatment web-deliverable and to test its efficacy in women and children with PTSD as well as with veterans. This work is funded by At Ease, USA. Dr. Badura Brack is also collaborating in a major cognitive developmental neuroscience research project funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) which combines MEG, fMRI, and genetic data with behavioral and psychological testing to study neural development in children. Her role in this project focuses on determining how the brain develops in the face of traumatic experience and behavioral and emotional disturbance. Dr. Badura Brack is Chair of the IRB; she directs the Undergraduate Internship in Psychology Program; and she regularly teaches Internship, Abnormal, Health, and Introductory Psychology.
