Andrea Cotton, MLIS

Andrea Cotton is the Metadata and Digital Initiatives Librarian. In that capacity, she oversees the law library's cataloging operations, manages the law school archives, and supports the library's digital initiatives. Professor Cotton also serves as a reference librarian, assisting students, faculty, and researchers with their information needs.

Professor Cotton joined the Creighton Law Library in 2006 after working in academic, medical, and public library settings. Beginning as a Cataloging Assistant, she advanced into a leadership role supervising cataloging functions and archival collections while continuing to provide public services through reference work.

Her professional interests include metadata management, digital collections, archives, and the organization and preservation of legal information resources. Through her work, she helps ensure that library materials remain discoverable, accessible, and properly preserved for current and future users.

Professor Cotton earned a Master of Information and Library Science (MILS) degree in 2012.
