Keli Mu, PhD, OTR/L

Professor

Keli Mu, Ph.D., OTR/L, FAOTA, is a Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at Creighton University. Dr. Mu joined Creighton University more than 20 years ago and has taught a wide range of courses in both entry-level and post-professional OTD programs. He has received Educator of the Year awards from both programs. From 2008 to 2025, Dr. Mu served as Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy.

Dr. Mu is passionate about research and scholarly activities. His research interests include evidence-based practice, outcomes research, patient safety, and professional education, with particular interests in hybrid education, fellowship education, and the application of artificial intelligence in occupational therapy education and practice. In collaboration with colleagues, he has secured extramural funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF) to support research and scholarly initiatives. He is also the recipient of the James S. Todd Memorial Award from the NPSF.

Dr. Mu has authored or co-authored more than 60 peer-reviewed research articles. He has served on the editorial boards of several professional journals and as an educational program accreditation reviewer for the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT). In recognition of his leadership and contributions to international collaboration, Dr. Mu received the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) International Service Award.

Dr. Mu is a frequent presenter at AOTA Annual Conferences and international occupational therapy congresses. In recognition of his significant contributions to the profession, he was inducted into the Roster of Fellows of the American Occupational Therapy Association (FAOTA) in 2023.
