Other
Liz Harrell, DNP, PMHNP-BC and Shannon Dirksen, Ph.D., Nicole Piemonte, Ph.D. The Student Health Outreach for Wellness (SHOW) is Arizona’s first state-licensed, free, student-run, integrated clinic and community initiative. Because there is a paucity in the literature about sustainable models to fund student-run free clinics, this project received a research grant from a Dignity-ASU collaboration in order to develop a sustainable funding model for SHOW and for student-run free clinics more generally.
Jason Robert, PhD, Nicole Piemonte, PhD, Jack Truten, PhD. Little attention has been paid to the formation of the future medical self that takes place during students’ premedical years before applying to medical school. As such, we developed a new Reflective Scribe program where students employed as medical scribes are invited to participate in reflective writing sessions, guided by a trained facilitator. This is just one component of a suite of narrative ethics and professionalism programs we intend to develop.
Mark Clark, PhD, Nicole Piemonte, MA. This project involved the creation of a life-writing and discussion-group medical school elective aimed at composing autobiographical prose that reflects upon and cultivates components of professional identity formation.
This study examined maladaptive communication patterns between mothers and young adult daughters in relation to coping and health promotion/prevention behavior after mothers received a cancer diagnosis.
