Bryan Skar, DDS, comes to Creighton University from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Dentistry where he was an Assistant Professor and Interim Chair in the Department of Growth and Development.
Dr. Skar received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Creighton University in 2004. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2009 and certificate of specialization in pediatric dentistry in 2011, both from UNMC. For five years, Dr. Skar worked in private pediatric dental practice before returning to UNMC in 2016 as an assistant professor.

Dr. Skar is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Since 2021 he has served as a board examiner for the ABPD Oral Clinical Exam.  Dr. Skar was recently selected to serve a five year term on the ABPD Oral Clinical Exam committee where he will participate in writing, editing, and constructing the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry Oral Clinical Exam. Locally, Dr. Skar has held various leadership positions in the Nebraska Society of Pediatric Dentistry.  He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, a member of the American Dental Association, and Nebraska Dental Association.

He has presented with the UNMC College of Dentistry Continuing Education Program in conjunction with the statewide UNMC Dental Caravan. He has also mentored UNMC residents on their research and provided free dental care through UNMC College of Dentistry mission trips and as a Nebraska Mission of Mercy volunteer.
 
In his role as the Gaylord G. Huenefeld Endowed Chair in Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Skar will contribute to the diverse curriculum, cutting edge research and exceptional education in the School of Dentistry. He also maintains an appointment as an associate professor.
