Degree and Certificate Programs

The Center for Health Promotion and Well-Being offers degree and certificate programs in healthy lifestyle management and in health and wellness coaching, as well as graduate certificate programs in related areas. Developed with an interdisciplinary focus that reflects the nature of today's healthcare team, these programs prepare students to empower individuals to positively impact health. They draw on the strengths of the faculty in each of Creighton's nine schools and colleges to provide a robust and well-rounded educational experience. 

Graduate Degree Programs

Health and Wellness Coaching Master of Science

Creighton's online Master's in Health and Wellness Coaching (MS-HWC) prepares you to fill a growing need in the changing landscape of healthcare, marked by increasingly broad and distinct understandings of health. This program prepares you to work collaboratively with a healthcare team and one-on-one with individuals to help them thrive.

If you are already working in the healthcare or wellness fields, a Master's degree in Health and Wellness Coaching will enhance your professional skill set by providing advanced training in:

  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Behavior Change Strategies
  • Client Goal Setting Techniques
  • Advanced Lifestyle Medicine
  • Coaching Assessment Techniques
  • Assessment and Evaluation Strategies
  • Exercise and Nutrition for Chronic Disease

This flexible program allows you to choose from two tracks based on your professional goals. Classes are offered in an online 8-week format. There are several program starts per year.

Graduate Certificates

For students who want to expand their knowledge but aren't ready for a master's degree, we offer certificate programs. Each certificate can be completed on its own or "stacked" with additional certificates to ultimately lead to a master's degree.

CHPWB currently offers a Graduate Certificate in Lifestyle Medicine. We are currently developing additional programs in Healthy Aging, Care Coordination and Program Design, Evaluation & Leadership.
