Community Connections

Providing Equitable Access to Resources for Youth and Families

Are there resources that you’ve tried to access for your children and family but haven’t been able to? Are there resources that you would like to know more about but are not sure who to ask or where to go? We can help.

We can connect you with educational supports, mental health resources, food and housing stability, parenting support, activities/sports and more.

Your Link to Support

Community Connections is committed to building 1-on-1 relationships with young people and families, providing information on resources and connecting you to community support. Community Connections is a free and voluntary support. We believe:

  • All families deserve access to resources
  • Youth and families know what’s best for them
  • In partnering with youth and families

Youth and Families Lead the Relationship

We’ll follow your lead and connect you to community supports that are family focused and culturally sensitive. Our role is to remove barriers to resources as we work with you to identify strengths and needs.

Who You’ll Work With

Community Connectors work directly with youth and families using a youth-family driven approach. Community Connectors are reflective of the communities where families reside and will work with you in identifying strengths, needs and capacity to participate, while identifying both informal and formal supports.

The Community Connections Director specializes in understanding resources that exist in Omaha, including how you can access them. The Director serves as a conduit between partnering agencies and provides ongoing support to the Community Connectors. They collaborate with agencies that provide unique services and supports to their communities.

Our Mission

Create community-based partnerships that are family focused, culturally sensitive and empower individuals and families to improve their quality of life and promote the restoration of a strong sense of community.
