CPHHE Programs: The Triple Core Approach

These core areas form the foundational framework for all CPHHE programs.

Triple Core Approach: Research, Intervention, Training & Development

Foundation

Partnership Community/Academia: The plan to eliminate health disparities in Nebraska is based on a triple-core approach that rests on a foundation of robust community and academic intersectoral partnering and collaboration.

Guiding Values

Respect, justice, care and other ethical values guide this collaborative-partnering endeavor. Because CPHHE values good health, it serves as a champion for enhancing quality of life and the elimination of disparities that lead to negative health outcomes.

Research

Through collaborative research with communities, CPHHE works to reduce health disparities. CPHHE investigates community needs and how evidence-based interventions best meet those needs.

Intervention

The intervention core describes CPHHE’s efforts to concretely improve community member health and encourage positive health behaviors, with an emphasis on preventing and self-managing chronic diseases.

Training and Development

Through the Training and Development core, CPHHE provides faculty and students with programming designed to incubate their skills and prepare them for health disparities research and health-related careers.

CPHHE Partnership

Established in 2009, CPHHE works to reduce health disparities and promote health equity. CPHHE partners comprise community organizational leaders and Creighton University academic personnel. The partnership collaborates in grant applications and funded projects, evidence-based interventions, and community outreach. CPHHE efforts focus on Nebraska, emphasizing the Omaha region.
