In collaboration with Douglas County Health Department (DCHD), Creighton University's Center for Promoting Health and Health Equity (CPHHE) assisted DCHD efforts to address the Covid-19 pandemic.
In response to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Creighton University shifted to exclusively online course delivery for the remainder of the spring semester, with full-scale virtual instruction beginning Monday, March 23, 2020. The Center for Promoting Health and Health Equity (CPHHE), a community/university collaboration to improve health outcomes in Omaha and the region, stepped in as community health advocates.

Our partners were community leaders who represented key organizations and multidisciplinary Creighton University faculty with expertise in healthcare, healthcare research and education. Together we aimed to promote health and reduce health disparities in Nebraska populations.
CPHHE partners collaborated to identify community needs for promoting health equality and develop strategies to meet those needs.
Initially identified community needs included the areas of cancer, violence, heart health (cardiovascular), diabetes and HIV/AIDS.
