Creighton undergraduates are strongly encouraged to enroll in the Student Success pre-professional learning communities to further their understanding of the pharmacy, physical therapy or occupational therapy profession, as well as to obtain helpful instruction on how to be a competitive applicant for admission.

SPAHP’s Office of Admission along with the faculty are actively engaged in providing ideas for Student Success programming and work closely with the Student Success program leadership to implement ideas that are in the best interest of our future applicants. Examples of programming include our interviewing tips, custom workshops, application guidance, professional and student panels, program information sessions, current student shadowing and seminars devoted to helping students develop their own individual plan for successful application into professional school.

The Office of Admission for the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions (SPAHP) is dedicated to assisting Creighton undergraduate students with questions, advising, or anything else related to admission. We have weekly walk-in hours for Creighton undergraduate students every Tuesday from 1:30 to 4 p.m. If this time conflicts with class, we offer appointments that work with your schedule.

While taking prerequisite coursework, students are encouraged to seek out opportunities to explore the profession they are interested in, along with other career choices. Students are not required be locked into one specific plan, and are advised to utilize all resources available to them to confirm that pharmacy, physical therapy or occupational is truly their passion. This benefits Creighton undergraduates because they are allowed maximum flexibility if they change their mind, while at the same time still being able to gain extensive knowledge of the profession.

The Office of Admission and Student Success can assist with course registration for students who have multiple interests and help layout a successful path to individual goals.

Unlike many institutions that have generic pre-health clubs, Creighton offers students focused opportunities to explore each profession. Students may join one or several clubs, allowing for more robust profession-specific study and discernment.

Students have abundant opportunities to shadow or volunteer in a pharmacy, physical therapy or occupational therapy settings to obtain direct exposure to clinical practice. Many Creighton undergraduates also volunteer or work as pharmacy technicians, physical therapy assistants or occupational therapy assistants at healthcare facilities in the greater Omaha area. These experiences are encouraged to strengthen applications. Support is offered in finding these experiences if needed.
