Upon admission to Creighton, your admissions advisor will assist with you these critical next steps that need to be complete prior to the start of the semester
We’re excited that you’ve decided to become a part of the Creighton community of learners! In order to help you acclimate to your life as a student, we’ll review a few of the most important steps that you’ll need to have completed and be familiar with before starting your first course.
NetID & Blue Account Activation
All Creighton students are assigned a 3-letter, 5-digit NetID (format e.g. BBJ12345). You will use your NetID to access all of the resources available to you throughout your Creighton career. Upon admission you’re also assigned a one-time password to activate your BLUE account. If you have not received this information, please contact your admissions advisor at 402.280.2703.
You will not be able to access Creighton’s online services without activating your BLUE account. To activate your BLUE account you’ll need to go to the AMI site at http://ami.creighton.edu. When activating your account for the first time, you’ll need to enter your NetID, one-time password and date of birth to verify your identity.
Upon activation you’ll complete a security profile and create a new password of your choosing in accordance with the password requirements. The security profile will enable you to reset your password, should you need to do so. Passwords expire every 180 days and you’ll receive a notification in your Creighton email 15 days before it expires. In the event that you forget your password or it expires, please contact DoIT at 402.280.1111 or reset your password on the AMI site.

A financial aid award cannot be packaged for you until you have been admitted to the University and all materials have been received by the Financial Aid Office. Typically, you will be asked to submit the following documents:
TIP: Select the IRS Data Retrieval Tool when completing your FAFSA to expedite the process.
Once your application is complete, Financial Aid will review your information and send award notification by mail (first time Creighton students) or email. Your award information will also be available on the NEST (under Financial Aid > Award). Some forms of aid will require additional action (e.g. completing an online financial aid learning activity).
You will need to review, accept and/or decline your financial aid offer(s) on NEST before the funds are posted to your student account. For detailed information about financial aid, please contact the Financial Aid Office at 402.280.2703.

The NEST is a student self-service account that will provide you with access to:
To access your NEST account, You will need your NetID and BLUE password to login to the system. If you experience difficulty, contact Creighton’s DoIT help desk at 402.280.1111.
After going to the NEST home page, click on “Student and Faculty Login”. Use your BLUE login information the same way as you would for your CUmail. Once you have logged in it will take you to a menu screen where you can access your “Student Services”, “Student Accounts”, “Financial Aid”, and “Personal Information” records.
BlueLine is Creighton’s online learning management system. All online courses are delivered through the BlueLine site. In addition, instructors may post course materials for on-campus courses on BlueLine. You can check course announcements, contact class members, and view grades for certain courses. If you’re taking classes on campus, be aware that not all instructors will use BlueLine in their courses.
To login to BlueLine, you will need to go to http://blueline.instructure.com. Once on this screen enter your Creighton NetID and BLUE password the same as you would for your CUmail and NEST accounts. Click “Sign In” to access your personal BlueLine site.
We recommend you familiarize yourself with BlueLine by accessing the Student Orientation to BlueLine (Help > Student Orientation to BlueLine).
Activities to familiarize yourself with the Blueline environment are also included in your CPS200 course. If you have trouble finding your courses listed, first check with your instructor or your CPS academic advisor.
TIP: If you are accessing BlueLine from a public computer, DO NOT bookmark the site. Make sure to close your browser completely after logging off.
If you have any problems accessing Blueline, contact DoIT at 402.280.1111. If you have any additional problems with the course, be sure to contact your instructor.
If you are taking courses on campus and were born on or after January 1, 1957, you will need to provide documentation of receiving TWO doses of the Measles, Mumps, and Rubella, or “MMR” vaccine (positive blood test showing immunity also accepted). A HOLD will be placed on your account, preventing you from future course registration until the information is submitted. This policy is based on current CDC standards and therefore you must show proof of vaccination. History of the disease will not be accepted. If you are unable to show proof of vaccination, unable to locate records, or have not been vaccinated, please contact Creighton Student Health Services at 402.280.2735. Click here to learn how to submit proof of immunization.
If you have questions about acceptable forms of documentation or the requirement itself, please contact Sue Weston, RN at 402.280.1789, or fax to 402.280.1859. Student Health Services is located in the Harper Center on the ground floor, room 1034.
All new and returning students are auto-enrolled in the University-sponsored Student Health Insurance plan. If you already have a comprehensive insurance, you must waive the coverage through your NEST account (under Student Services > Health Insurance >Waive Health Insurance). The premium for the University-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan will remain on your account unless the waiver process is completed before the deadline. You will be required to complete the waiver annually.

You can purchase textbooks, Creighton apparel, gifts, supplies, reading materials, gift cards, and computer products there. The Bookstore offers a buy-back program for textbooks. The bookstore also offers a book rental program where you pay a discounted price for the book and return it by a set due date. You can obtain your Creighton ID card from the Card Services Office or request it online via the Card Services website. Your student ID card has a high-frequency proximity chip as well as a magnetic strip, so please do not alter or punch holes in your card. If your card is stolen or lost, please report to Card Services for deactivation. The replacement fee is $20 if lost or stolen or $10 if you are replacing a damaged card.
The Jaybuck$ program allows you to use your ID as a debit card. For a list of on-campus and off-campus locations that accept Jaybuck$ and additional card information, visit the Card Services website.
As a student at Creighton University, you deserve a safe environment. The Department of Public Safety works in partnership with students, faculty, and staff, to help and protect people, secure property, solve problems, and enhance the quality of campus life. There are several Blue Light emergency phones placed around campus and officers patrol the campus on foot, on bicycles, and by vehicle 24 hours a day. To report a crime please contact Public Safety at 402.280.2104 (for non-emergencies) or 402.280.2911 (for emergencies). Victims are encouraged to report all incidents to Public Safety regardless of how insignificant the crime may seem. For all on-campus emergencies, you must call 402.280.2911 instead of 911.
If you’re parking on campus you’ll need to have a valid parking permit. Students attending courses after 4 PM may obtain a free “Evening” permit from the CPS Dean’s office. If you’re taking courses during the day, you’ll need to purchase a “Student” permit at the Public Safety Office, located at 2205 Burt Street. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The purchase of a permit does not guarantee the availability of a space.
For full-time students taking courses during the day, permit fees are $332 per year. For part-time students during the day, the permit fee is $166 per year. Additional pro-rated parking rates may be available. Please inquire at the Public Safety Office.
Both the tag and the validation sticker need to be present on your vehicle. Student parking lots are marked by a corresponding green and white “Student Parking” sign. Student parking is available on levels 1 and 2 of the 20th Street parking garage and on levels 2 and 3 of the 24th Street garage. Students arriving after 4 PM during the weekday, or anytime during the weekend are allowed to park in the blue and white “Faculty/ Staff” lots.
If you have any additional questions regarding Public Safety, please call 402.280.2104.
