Simulation Training Equipment

Our simulation resources include advanced medical equipment such as portable ultrasound imaging, virtual patient monitoring and cardiopulmonary trainers. These technologies allow learners to practice essential clinical skills in realistic settings, building competence, confidence and readiness for clinical practice.

Among the most notable resources are high-fidelity manikins that replicate physiological responses such as pulse, heart and bowel sounds, breathing, blinking and bleeding. These lifelike robotic patients allow learners to assess conditions, make clinical decisions, practice interventions and learn from mistakes in a safe environment.

The center also uses virtual reality, and other immersive technologies to create authentic clinical experiences. Anatomage Tables offer interactive virtual dissection and 3D visualization, helping learners explore anatomy and connect physiological concepts to clinical practice.

Together, these resources help students strengthen clinical reasoning, communication and interprofessional teamwork while developing the skills and confidence needed to provide safe, effective patient care.

Central Line Care

Chester Chest

Image
Chester Chest

Included with this model is a real port that makes it possible to simulate accessing the following IVAD placements: normal, “tipping,” “wandering,” or deeply placed in the left chest area. Successful access is confirmed by a blood return. Fluid can be infused, and blood withdrawn from all the lines.

Chester Chest’s™ Port Access Arm has a dual 5Fr PICC exiting the basilic vein from the inner bicep area and a pre-positioned 20g IV catheter in the forearm. And proximal to the PICC insertion site is recessed area for the placement of an optional peripheral IVAD. The base of this recessed area for the optional peripheral IVAD is made of a soft material that permits the IVAD to “float” when palpated and accessed.

Wound Care Trainers

This VATA model is molded from a 74-year-old patient and displays the following conditions: Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3 with undermining, tunneling, subcutaneous fat and slough, deep Stage 4 with exposed bone, undermining, tunneling, subcutaneous fat, eschar and slough. Also shown on this healthcare simulator: deep tissue pressure injury, unstageable, and a 5 1/2′′ dehisced wound. The unique flexible, life-like material of this VATA anatomical healthcare model permits the placement of dressings for use with negative pressure wound therapy devices without leaving an adhesive residue.

Anatomage Table

The Anatomage Table is the only fully segmented real human 3D anatomy system. Users can visualize anatomy exactly as they would on a fresh cadaver. Individual structures are reconstructed in accurate 3D, resulting in an unprecedented level of real accurate anatomy, dissectible in 3D. Anatomy is presented as a fully interactive, life-sized touch screen experience, in operatory bed form. The Table allows for exploration and learning of human anatomy.
