To advance health justice for all, the IPH transforms community health and healthcare through education, research, service and advocacy.

The Institute for Population Health embodies Creighton’s commitment to service and social justice and the Jesuit, Catholic mission to seek a more just world. The University-wide institute works to strengthen Creighton’s campus, clinical and community partnerships. The population health approach is intentionally collaborative across sectors, identifying and addressing drivers of health disparities. The IPH supports the design, implementation and critical evaluation of interventions and policies that advance health and improve access to high value healthcare for all.

As defined by Kindig and Stoddart, population health is, “Health outcomes of a group of individuals, including the distribution of such outcomes within the group.” It is also an approach to care that examines the intersecting factors that influence health. At the Institute, we focus on using the following strategic tools for population health interventions: education and workforce development, clinical transformation, research and evaluation, community engagement, and policy and advocacy.
