Intensive English Language Institute NEW

Applying to the Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) is a straightforward process. Review the minimum requirements and required documents below, then submit your application.

Minimum Requirements

IELI applicants must:

• Be at least 17 years of age.
• Have completed high school (exceptions may be made for short-term study).
• Demonstrate minimum proficiency on an approved test, such as:
  • TOEFL
  • IELTS
  • Duolingo
  • PTE
  • CEFR

Documents You Will Need

• English proficiency test results from within the past six months.
• A Certification of Available Finances form indicating funding from all sources.
• A bank statement showing the most recent three months of activity.
• A copy of the personal information page of your passport.

Acceptance to IELI

Once accepted into IELI, you must pay a $75 fee before we mail your acceptance letter and Form I-20 with further instructions. You will need these documents to apply for an entry visa at the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. Full-time students must enter the United States on a student visa, not a tourist visa.

Before you can begin classes, you must submit immunization records. You will receive information about how to upload these records in your admissions packet. If you are under age 19, your parent or guardian will need to complete the Consent to Treat form.

Admission to Other Creighton University Programs

Admission to IELI does not include admission to degree programs at Creighton University, including Bridge to Creighton. Students who plan to pursue a degree at Creighton should submit a separate application for admission to the University.
