Since 1979, the Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) at Creighton University has supported students from diverse language backgrounds as they strengthen the academic English skills needed for university-level study. In addition to regularly scheduled courses, IELI offers co-curricular activities outside the classroom, as well as special camps and programs during the summer.
Applying to the Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) is a straightforward process. Review the minimum requirements and required documents below, then submit your application.
IELI applicants must:
Applications are due two months before the beginning of the term. View our academic calendars.
Once accepted into IELI, you must pay a $75 fee before we mail your acceptance letter and Form I-20 with further instructions. You will need these documents to apply for an entry visa at the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. Full-time students must enter the United States on a student visa, not a tourist visa.
Before you can begin classes, you must submit immunization records. You will receive information about how to upload these records in your admissions packet. If you are under age 19, your parent or guardian will need to complete the Consent to Treat form.
Admission to IELI does not include admission to degree programs at Creighton University, including Bridge to Creighton. Students who plan to pursue a degree at Creighton should submit a separate application for admission to the University.
