General Internal Medicine

Welcome to the Division of General Internal Medicine, the largest Division in the Department of Medicine. The faculty serve as Clinicians, Educators, Researchers and Administrators at 3 locations: CHI Bergan Mercy Hospital and Clinics, Omaha VA Medical Center and Creighton University Medical Campus.

Clinical Care

General Internal Medicine physicians specialize in the care of adults and are trained in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of internal diseases. The faculty take care of both outpatients and inpatients at the CHI Bergan Mercy location, Dundee clinic and VA location and are currently taking new patients.

Education

All of the faculty of the Division of General Internal Medicine are involved in the education of our future doctors and physician assistants through the Creighton School of Medicine.  We teach Creighton residents, medical students and physician assistants at our 3 locations. Several of the faculty are award winning educators.

Interest in General Internal Medicine has waned over the past 30 years. The Division has made a commitment to increase the numbers of General Internists with the start of a Primary Care Track in our residency program.

Research

Research activities are promoted in the Division of General Internal Medicine and several faculty are accomplished researchers, especially in the field of education. Please review our faculty’s web page.
