TRIO Pre-College Programs

Expanding Opportunities for Students in Our Community

Creighton sponsors four federally funded TRIO programs that help first-generation, income-eligible and Omaha metropolitan students pursue higher education. Funded through a competitive Department of Education grant process, these programs serve more than 2,100 students from the Omaha metro area. Collectively, TRIO programs provide guidance on applying to colleges, financial literacy, career exploration, academic support and leadership training.

Programs for Creighton Students

In addition to our middle and high school-focused TRIO programs, we offer similar programs and resources to support students admitted to Creighton.

  • TRIO Student Support Services provides first-generation and income-eligible students with academic advising, personal and career counseling, tuition assistance and support when applying for financial aid.
  • Creighton offers support specifically for first-generation students, providing connections to people, tools and opportunities that can help students thrive academically, socially and professionally.
