Searching for an internship or job can feel daunting—especially when you’re just starting your career—but the Career Center can help. We provide guidance on attending career fairs, finding internships and jobs and understanding your rights and responsibilities as a job seeker. In addition to this support, you’ll find various online resources to help you identify opportunities, prepare for interviews and strengthen your skills.
Career fairs give you direct access to employers recruiting for internships, part-time roles and full-time positions. They allow you to introduce yourself to recruiters and hiring managers, practice discussing your skills and learn about organizations and their hiring processes. When you attend one of our career fairs, you’ll also expand your professional network—making connections that can lead to interviews. Below, you’ll find guidance to help you prepare before, engage during and follow up after the event.
Jobs and internships are secured through many of the same strategies. Whether you are seeking hands-on experience during college or preparing for post-graduation employment, a successful search requires clarity, preparation and persistence. Use the guidance below to make the process as efficient and effective as possible.
If you have questions about these steps or need assistance, schedule an appointment with the Career Center. Our advisors are happy to support you throughout your career journey.
