For Creighton Faculty and Staff:

New ideas for activities in the Dominican Republic are always welcomed! All Creighton University programs / projects in the Dominican Republic must first be cleared by Creighton University's Institute for Latin American Concern (ILAC) within the Global Engagement Office. Please visit the Global Engagement Office website for guidelines to submit a new program for review.

For Non-Creighton Groups:

Creighton-ILAC works with a variety of high schools, colleges and universities, and organizations both inside and outside of Nebraska to create faith-based service-learning immersion experiences for participants. During these immersions participants live with and learn from campesinos in the rural areas of the Dominican Republic while working alongside community members on a service project. For these groups Creighton University provides logistical scheduling support, pre-departure formation and orientation information, on-site support, and serves as the link between the organization and the ILAC staff and rural communities.

New programs are considered on a rolling basis, and several factors are taken into consideration including the program mission and fit with Creighton’s mission, the community impact and sustainability of the program, and staffing feasibility based on current program scheduling. To begin a conversation, please contact Jill Muegge, ILAC Director - Omaha, at JillMuegge@creighton.edu
