Chief’s Message

The Division of Cardiac Surgery is dedicated to advancing clinical care, research, education, and service in cardiac surgery. We focus on optimal patient outcomes through integrated care models, collaborating with specialties such as Cardiology, Pulmonary and Critical Care, Thoracic Surgery, and Cardiac Anesthesia. Our commitment extends beyond our hospitals to community outreach, ensuring equitable access to state-of-the-art comprehensive heart care across Nebraska, Iowa, and neighboring states. We enhance patient access through outpatient investments, introducing new clinical services via outreach clinics and virtual care visits.

Our clinical investigators are dedicated to advancing cardiac surgical care through research, including structural heart treatments. Our surgeon-scientists collaborate with medical device manufacturers to drive innovation.
