All applications are reviewed, and consideration is given to those who meet the above minimum requirements.  We welcome applications from all regions.

Applicant Selection

The program director and the application review committee review all applications that meet the above criteria and determine which applicants we invite to an interview.  Our interviews will take place November to January, on predetermined Fridays by invitation only. All communications with applicants will be done through ERAS Messaging or Thalamus, where applicants will receive notification on if they have been offered an interview or not. We will only offer 60 interview positions.

Interview Day

All interviews with our program are held virtually through the Thalamus platform. We offer a pre-interview resident "open house" via Zoom the night before each interview day. We will begin interviews at 8am CST with our Surgical Grand Rounds Conference. Interview sessions will start once the Grand Round conference has concluded. Each applicant will participate in one leadership, 2 faculty, and 1 PGY-4 resident interview session.

Our program strictly participates in the NRMP (National Residency Match Program) and we are unable to accept any out of match positions.
