EU Ambassador to Discuss AI, Ukraine During Creighton Visit
Creighton University will host the ambassador of the European Union to the United States, Jovita Neliupšienė, for a special visit and discussion on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
The event, held at the Hixson-Lied Auditorium inside the Harper Center on Creighton’s Omaha campus, will take place at 4 p.m. and include remarks as well as a moderated Q&A session.
Topics of discussion will include the war in Ukraine, tariffs, artificial intelligence, among others. The event will begin at 4 p.m. CT and last approximately one hour including remarks by the ambassador as well as a moderated Q&A session.

About Jovita Neliupšienė
A native of Lithuania, Neliupšienė assumed her current role in 2024 following a long career in public service. In the decade prior, she served Lithuania in a variety of roles, including as vice minister of foreign affairs (2022-2024), vice minister of economy and innovation (2020-2022), chancellor and state secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2020), and the country’s ambassador to the European Union (2015-2020).
She also spent time as a lecturer at Vilnius University from 2006 to 2012, specializing in Belarus and Ukrainian studies. During this time, she spent a semester enrolled in courses on Creighton's Omaha campus.
