Robert W . Sandstrom, PT, PhD

Professor

Dr. Sandstrom is a Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and a Faculty Associate in the Center for Health Policy and Ethics and Center for Health Services Research and Patient Safety.  He served as Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy from 2002- 2010.  He is the lead author of Health Services:  Policy and Systems for Therapists, now in its third edition.  He has served nationally in positions with the Health Policy Section of APTA, Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy and the Academic Administrators Special Interest Group of the Education Section, APTA.  From 2000-  2010, he served on the Nebraska State Board of Health (five years as secretary).  He currently serves as a technical review consultant on health professions’ scope of practice issues to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
