Program Availability

If you are interested in pre-law studies, Creighton University offers a program that will allow you to earn a combined bachelor’s degree and law degree in six years.

The Creighton College of Arts and Sciences and the Creighton School of Law collaborated on the degree track to provide this opportunity for highly motivated students to maximize their course work at Creighton. You’ll spend three years on requirements for a bachelor’s degree in the Arts and Sciences and three years on requirements for a law degree.

The 3-3 program is available for the following majors:

  • Classical and Near Eastern Studies
  • Communication Studies
  • English

Outcomes

Employment of lawyers is projected to grow 10% by 2022, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Because more students graduate from law school each year than there are jobs available, competition for positions is strong. Getting 2 degrees in only 6 years gives you a head start.

  • Critical and creative problem solving, sometimes contrary to conventional wisdom
  • Sound practical judgment

  • Insight into how the law operates in the real world
  • Ignatian values, including personal and professional formation and seeking justice for all

Curriculum

  • Students will spend three years on requirements for a bachelor’s degree in the College of Arts and Sciences and three years on requirements for a law degree. The first year of law school will also count toward requirements for the bachelor’s degree.
