April Buschelman, EdD

Assistant Professor

Originally from a small Nebraska town, Dr. April Buschelman graduated from Mount Marty College with a BS in Secondary Education Mathematics. She then taught high school mathematics for eleven years, earning a MS from Peru State College during that time. In 2014, she joined the Creighton alumni by earning her EdD in Interdisciplinary Leadership. 

Dr. Buschelman took a full-time faculty role with Creighton in 2017 and now serves as the Creighton University Director of Certification and Field Placements in which she coordinates the field placements for teacher prep students, assists with internship placements and agreements in the educational leadership and school counseling programs, and handles all state certifications of Creighton's teacher education, educational leadership, and school counseling programs. She also teaches education courses to both graduate and undergraduate students, provides Safe Environment Training for the Archdiocese of Omaha, and serves on the Nebraska Association of Colleges for Teacher Education executive committee as Past-President. Dr. Buschelman is also a certified Gallup Strengths Coach, and her top 5 Gallup Strengths consist of Futuristic, Maximizer, Achiever, Relator, and Command.
