Biography:
Deborah Divis earned her Master of Library and Information Sciences from San Jose State University in 2011. Prior to that she completed the Bachelor of Information and Library Services degree from the University of Maine at Augusta in 2009.
Prior to joining Creighton University, she worked at Nebraska Methodist College where she served all campus programs, as well as the Nebraska Methodist Health System as the Reference and Interlibrary Loan Librarian, subsequently named the Reference and Resource Librarian. She has also worked in other academic libraries at UNMC and Northeast Lakeview College in Universal City, Texas. Ms. Divis began her library career as an intern at the Sarita East Kenedy Law Library at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, followed by heading the Pope John Paul II Library at The Atonement Academy College Preparatory School in San Antonio, Texas. In addition to her Librarian position, she was appointed as Technology Applications Faculty for the Distinguished Diploma Track as well as appointed to the Archdiocese of San Antonio Department of Catholic Schools Technology Integration Committee.
She is a member of the Medical Library Association, Academy of Health Information Professionals – Distinguished Level, Midcontinental Chapter of the Medical Library Association, American Library Association, Nebraska Library Association, and ICON Library Consortium where she served on its Executive Board from 2018-2020 (Senior Member, 2020). She also actively serves within the American Association Colleges of Pharmacy as well as participates in American Association of Medical Colleges initiatives.
