Dr. Keith Olson is an assistant professor of practice in the economics and finance department at Creighton University Heider College of Business. The classes he teaches include Investment Analysis, Portfolio Management and Financial Modeling in Excel. He is also involved with the Pearl River Delta travel abroad program. Dr. Olson believes learning begins with chaos!
“Chaos offers challenges that drive change, leading to the necessity of critical thinking. This tension generates the electricity that illuminates eye-opening experiences, leading to chaos at a higher level. It is the cycle of life-long learning that often seems to revolve at the speed of light and that presents students with opportunities for growth. It is a powerful motivator that I use in my courses to expose students to lifelong investment decision-making and the possibility of uncovering hidden passions in themselves.”
His ongoing research interests include global portfolio management and event studies.
Dr. Olson is a charted Financial Analyst. He received his BS in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, his MBA from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and his DBA from Creighton University. In addition to academia, Dr. Olson enjoys sharing his experiences with his students, learning, traveling and gardening.
